One of our favorite vendor-friends is Bob!
He sells stuff at Sac-con/anime and runs a little comic shop near where we live.
One time, we're talking about independent comics and Bob says to us,
"And there's nobody smaller or more independent than you!"
We weren't sure how to take it.
This is another good one.
We were hanging out at Free Comic Book Day 2009, and there were some pretty big name comic guys chatting it up at the table next to us.
We decided to ask what they were talking about, and they said
"Oh, we're just talking about ways to deal with the IRS when you start making a lot of money with an independent business.
But it's nothing you'll have to worry about anytime soon."
We're still mostly sure that was accidental.
